About EmpathyWorks Learning Center

Our Mission—The EmpathyWorks Project is dedicated to delivering training in emotional intelligence and support for emotional well-being to healthcare practitioners, professionals and broad segments of society via digital technologies.

We Believe

Each person has a natural desire to optimize their relational fitness with others in order to achieve their fullest potential.

Empathy is the highest form of emotional intelligence, the key to optimizing relational fitness and sustaining happy, healthy and productive relationships, vital to personal success in life.

Empathic ability is a hard-wired potential and like language, requires development and practice to develop beyond rudimentary levels.

Empathy is not a mystery and can be deconstructed and learned in a fun, organic and step-by-step process.

A society that values and practices empathy will be a more harmonious and productive society.

Our Goals

Provide practical and sustainable tools that enhance emotional intelligence & empathy-skills, improve positive outcomes and promote professional and personal efficacy.

Provide a comprehensive learning process that strengthens specific skills key to empathic attunement (e.g. empathic listening, empathic inquiry, mirroring and feedback, and repairing breaks in empathy).

Integrate theoretical constructs and experiential learning with Empathy Games® and interactive exercises in a fun, organic and transformational process. (See detailed description of the Organic Learning Method)

Provide participants with immediate feedback on their empathic ability employing our newly developed EMQ (empathy quotient) a unique non-self-reporting method of measuring empathic accuracy.

Strengthen respect for cultural, individual, and role differences through greater empathic awareness and sensitivity to all aspects of age, gender identity, race, ethnicity, cultural, national origin, religion, sexual orientation, disability, language, and socioeconomic status.
